The union that represent Boeing aerospace workers in the United States sent a solidarity motion to Embraer workers in Brazil. The international president of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM), Robert G. Martinez Jr., who signs the motion, affirms being shocked when seeing the video where the Police is beating up trade-unionists front of the Embraer gates in Brazil.
The motion also reveals an anti-union stand by Boeing against its employees in South Carolina, U.S., including layoffs. An extract of the text states, “we warn Embraer not to bring the anti-union stand of Boeing to Brazil.”
“Our Union appreciates the solidarity of U.S. workers in this struggle for better wages and guarantee of rights. Our struggle is also international,” sad the Union Leadership, Herbert Claros.
Embraer workers went to strike on September 24. Union leaders and workers were repressed, especially the following day, by the Military Riot Police, called by Embraer.
The rudeness won international repercussion and took several entities to send motions in support of the Embraer workers’ struggle.
